Biometrics is very popular and widely accepted technology for personal authentication. The proposed work describes the fingerprint verification based on Discrete Wavelet Transform [DWT]. It is a new Image based approach for fingerprint verification. Haar wavelet is used for decomposition of the fingerprint image. Decomposition of the fingerprint image is carried out up to three levels. Then wavelet statistical features are extracted from decomposed fingerprint image.
