As a new biometric technique, finger recognition has attracted lots of attentions and use in wide range of applications. Finger vein recognition is a physiological characteristics-based biometric technique, it uses vein patterns of human finger to perform identity authentication. Even in the case of identical twins the finger-vein patterns are unique. This makes finger vein detection a secure biometric for individual identification. Finger vein recognition systems acquire images by utilizing near infrared (NIR) illumination conjunction with a camera. However, systems alike may face a series of operational frustrations, since light scattering from the skin can make capturing clear image process a difficult task. The deal with low quality finger vein image represents the major concern of this work, beside selection of proper features to distinguish between individuals.
