These small-scale industrial units can be established in semi-urban and rural areas where the infrastructure is underdeveloped. The objective is to use local raw material for raising production with the help of local skills. Small-scale industries provide employment without affecting the main occupational -agriculture-of illiterate people in rural areas in India.

Dr.G.Ramjee Bheem Rao is currently POST DOCTORAL FELOW(PDF) in the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He received M.Com, MBA, PGDCPA, M.Phil and Ph.D from Andhra University. He authored 1 book and published 15 articles in reputed National & International Journals.
