Matthew Scully is the author of Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy. He was literary editor of National Review and served as a senior speechwriter for President George W. Bush. With speechwriting experience in seven presidential general-election campaigns, he has published political commentaries in The Atlantic, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and many other newspapers and magazines.
