Every day, people settle for less than they deserve. They are only partially living or at best living a partial life. Every human being has the potential for greatness. Bo Bennett The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for. Maureen Dowd This study was conceived as a result of an outcry by extension officers serving with the ministry of Agriculture in different parts of Kenya. As is common with most civil servants, many felt that they were not getting enough support from both their head office (policies and supportive facilitation) and their immediate supervisors. The areas commonly stated in the complains included lack of creative supervision, poor or no sufficient equipment, a poor work environment and poor career development strategies, all necessary components for effective fulfillment of their day to day mandate as required by their job description. It is hoped that this study will pave way to further studies to tackle the problem of productivity among extension officers in the ministry of agriculture in Kenya.
