This book gives insights into indirect communication in Bluetooth protocol on mobiles also insight into the technologies needed to develop Java Bluetooth applications for mobile devices. Bluetooth, Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME), and Java APIs for Bluetooth Wireless Technology (JABWT) are discussed. The necessary infrastructures for developing Java Bluetooth applications are also described. Descriptions of how different Bluetooth actions like inquiry and service discovery are done with the Java API are provided.Books on JABWT programming are available during the writing of this thesis. Simple functionality is often explained in a far too complex way in these books, making it hard for developers to get started with Java Bluetooth programming.This thesis aims to give a clean and basic introduction to the simple parts of JABWT before the more complex functionality is explained. Also, a broad view of the technology is given, enabling developers to see where JABWT has its place among other technologies. Different software platforms, development tools, and Java Bluetooth enabled devices are discussed.
