Autorenporträt
After growing up in Brighton, Alys Tomlinson studied English Literature and Communications at the University of Leeds. She was given her first commission for Time Out in New York before going on to study photography at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and has recently completed an MA in Anthropology of Travel, Tourism and Pilgrimage (Distinction) at SOAS, University of London.  In 2018, she was the recipient of the Sony World Photographer of the Year award.
