Brazilian institutional policy has an intriguing phenomenon: the lack of consistency in economic policies reflected in economic growth. Therefore, the aim of this study is to construct an interpretation of the Brazilian reality related to the interaction of political and economic institutions and to classify them, based on the results obtained over the years, into Extractive or Inclusive Institutions and their reflection on Brazilian Economic Growth. The studies begin with a historical investigation into the development of the political system in Brazil from the 16th century onwards, with the aim of understanding the foundations on which Brazilian institutions were built, the society to which these policies were directed and the way in which Brazil has replicated Iberian culture over the years. This was followed by a brief analysis of the Classical School, based on Growth Theory, which gave rise to the Institutionalist School, whose tools highlight the hypothesis proposed in thiswork.
