This not only includes criminal and civil crime, but also organsational losses, mostly due to theft and pilferage. This has led to a demand for private security services, which opened up a lucrative market, both nationally and internationally. In maintaining or increasing their market share private security companies must focus on methods of enhancing their efficiency on operational level. This investigation centers on operational work teams and its potential for enhancing the operational success of the company under investigation. One of the major role players in the South African market was investigated and the study reports on the findings relating to their operational work teams in the Bloemfontein area. Multicultural aspects also had to be considered, due to the culturally diverse nature of the South African workforce.
