Stewart worked in conjunction with Unsolicited Press and her company If You Give a Girl a Book to build the collection out of her desire to help others -- all proceeds from the book will be donated to Smart Oregon, a literacy group in Oregon dedicated to building confidence in children's reading skills.

S.R. Stewart is a poet who lives between Oregon and Montana. She spoke at the 2016 Montana Book Festival on gender in prose and poetry. Stewart's poetry and nonfiction has been published by Euphony, Spires, Beacon, Nameless, The Fictioneer, The Davis Enterprise, Portland State's Vanguard, Skinny to Strong S,an Diego Entertainer, and many more. Her first chapbook, "Everything I Learned About Men, I Learned from OkCupid" was published in 2016. She blogs on If You Give a Girl a Book.
