The problem persists with boring operation when axial distance of the internal dimension increases. To perform large hole machining operations the overhang length of the boring bar also increases. As the overhang length of the boring bar increases (especially for smaller cross-section boring bar) the amount of deflection of the boring bar also increases, which results into unwanted vibrations. These unwanted vibrations will create chatter marks on the machined surfaces and which affect the surface finish i.e. the surface finish obtained is very poor. The present day industrial demand does not allow to supply the machined component with improper surface finish. The Indian small scale industries, which are the major vendors of the major units will not be able to solve these problems with costlier solutions. In this research work an attempt is made to find out the solution for the vibration problem of the boring operation by using passive vibration damper technique.
