The aims and objectives of syllabus are supposed to be reflected in the textbook. In this sense a textbook does not determine its own aims nor should the completion of the textbook be the aim of teaching and learning programmes. The focus of the present study is to find out the relevance of a textbook prescribed for the technical students of Odisha, India. For this study, three research tools have been used such as Questionnaires,Interview Protocol, and Classroom Observation Checklist. The findings of the study reflect that some parts of the textbook need to be improved to cater to the needs of the learners. Based on feedback from both teachers and learners some suggestions have been evolved to modify the textbook.
