Emma May Davies is nearly six years old and lives in South Manchester, in the north west of England. She was five and a half years old when she created the character of Ellie the Shy Chick, and wrote a very short story about her. She sent this to her grandad, Philip Watson, author of 'Santa Sleeps In!' 'Three Animals and a Baby' and ''Twas the Squeak Before Christmas.' He developed the story further and had it illustrated.
