Fred Langan (Author) Fred Langan is a Canadian author and journalist. He worked at the CBC for more than 40 years, and also freelanced for many domestic and foreign newspapers, including the Globe and Mail, The Economist, the New York Times and the Christian Science Monitor. He has published two novels and has ghost written 12 books. He continues to write obituaries for the Globe and Mail.Marie-Paule Charette-Poulin (Contributor) The Honourable Marie-Paule Charette-Poulin, a former broadcast executive, was a member of the Senate of Canada for some twenty years. This Franco-Ontarian woman rose through the ranks to become Vice-President of the CBC, where she held various portfolios: Human Resources and Industrial Relations, Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors, and Regional Radio and Television Operations. Prior to this, she was founding Director of the French Services of Northern Ontario for the Société Radio-Canada, which included the launch of the CBON radio station in Sudbury and the establishment of over 30 retransmission antennas in Northern Ontario. In 1995, Ms. Charette-Poulin was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. She served until 2015. Since then, she has served on various committees and boards. She was appointed Parliamentarian-in-Residence at Saint Paul University in 2023.
