The electrochemical technique is one of the simplest and most direct methods for carrying out oxidation or reduction reactions because the addition or removal of electrons can be achieved without attendant complications involved in the addition of redox reagents to a system. Almost all types of organic reactions are possible by the electrochemical method and the product of electrolysis is also pure.
