Daniel Goleman, nacido en 1947, es redactor de las páginas científicas del prestigioso diario The New York Times y autor de Inteligencia emocional, best seller mundial sobre psicología que lleva más de un millón de ejemplares vendidos y ha sido traducido a veinticinco idiomas. Fue editor de la revista Psychology Today y profesor de psicología en la Universidad de Harvard. Actualmente dirige varios programas piloto en colegios de Estados Unidos, donde se enseña a los niños a desarrollar sus habilidades sociales. Antes del fenómeno literario que ha supuesto su libro Inteligencia emocional, Goleman ya había publicado El punto ciego y varios títulos de carácter divulgativo, entre los que destacan: Los caminos de la meditación (The Mediative Mind.
