Sand casting, as the name implies, is the process of metal casting in which the mould is made of sand. There are mainly two types of sand are found for casting process with respect to their grain size, one is coarse grain sand and another one is fine grain sand. By preparing them in same procedure like moisture content test, clay content test, refractoriness test, strength test, permeability test, flow-ability test, mould hardness test etc., will be done separately to create mould cavity to form desire casting product.
