This transition from childhood to adulthood involves dramatic physical, sexual, psychological and social developmental changes and it poses risks to their health and wellbeing. (WHO, 2018).Adolescents require special attention and protection.(UNICEF,2019).The sudden and rapid physical changes that adolescents go through make them very self conscious.Girls may be anxious if they are not ready for the beginning of their menstrual periods.(Medline plus,2017). According to the World Health Organization's expert committee (WHO,2018) adolescence is defined as the period in human growth and development that occurs after childhood and before adulthood, from ages 10 to19 and account for more than 1/5thof the world's population. There are about 350 million adolescents comprising about 22% of the population in the countries of South East Asia region. Biological processes constrain many aspects of this growth and development, with the onset of puberty marking the passage from childhood to adolescence. It is a time period of life with special health and developmental needs and rights. It is also a time to acquire knowledge and skills, learn to manage feelings, emotions and relations, and acquire attributes and abilities.
