The co- immobilized cells can open up new possibilities of synergistic action. Increasing interest in commercial production of amino acids clearly reveals the many functions of amino acids in humans and animals. Novel methods of production are more economical. This book describes the production of L- Glutamic acid using microbes such as Brevibacterium saccharolyticum, B. roseum, and Escherichia coli Type 1, with free cells, immobilization and co-immobilization methods. Media design studies are carried out to enhance Glutamic acid yield with different nutrient enrichments.
