Anatomical wood properties such as fiber length and fiber diameter, lumen diameter,cell wall thickness,ring width and early wood/latewood ratio were determined and their change with cambial age and water availability was evaluated. Fiber length, fiber diameter and cell wall thickness increased with increasing cambial age, and ring width and earlywood/latewood ratio decreased with increasing cambial age.

Daniel Wondifraw war vom 30. Juli 2013 bis zum 30. September 2015 Direktor des Wood Technology Research Center. Von Juli 2016 bis zum 14. November 2018 war er außerdem Direktor des Dire Dawa Environment and Forest Research Center. Derzeit arbeitet er im äthiopischen Umwelt- und Waldforschungsinstitut als Forscher.
