This book is an attempt to provide information on how one can study the effect of microwave treatment on seeds and relate with the corresponding changes in germination and gene expression through protein profiling. The research mainly covers seed germination and early seedling growth of fennel. As the work in this book is described simply it would be easy for graduates and post-graduate students to understand and replicate. The research work was awarded grant from Department of Science and Technology, Government of Rajasthan.

Shruti Godara obteve o seu Mestrado em Biotecnologia na SKRAU, Bikaner, Rajastão, onde também recebeu a Medalha de Ouro da Universidade. Recebeu uma bolsa INSPIRE do Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia para o programa de doutoramento. Os seus interesses de investigação incluem a biotecnologia vegetal e a biologia molecular.
