It is also possible to verify the inefficiency of mechanisms such as public hearings, pointed out in the literature, to minimize conflicts. The study is an excellent opportunity for the reader to reflect on the possibility of economic development, based on the intervention of a large enterprise, for a population whose institutions, defined as the formal rules of a society, are unable to guarantee property rights for those who, for years, have supported their families from their land.
