We are aware of the critical nature of our environment today as a result of pollution and all manner of indiscriminate assaults on our environs' mostly from municipal and industrial waste. Human activities begun to change the environment in a way harmful to people and other living things. This situation leads to a key question about values: Which is more important, the survival of people alive today or the conservation of the environment on which future food production and human life depends? The essence of this work is to correct the error of the past nonchalant environmental attitudes and provides framework for proper reviews and restructuring of poorly articulated programme, rules and legislation (mostly in less developed countries) that can help to restore environmental sanity. This work shows a simple but key waste policy for government intervention as at when due. This research was carried out in Umuahia metropolis of Abia State Nigeria, between January to November 2014.
