This book provides a comprehensive study of naturally growing mono-specific mangrove species Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh. in southern Sinai, Egypt in two protected areas, Nabq and Ras Mohammed. Total mangrove cover, percentages of mangrove distribution in different habitats with detailed habitat maps for the coastal zones comparing 30 years change in mangrove cover. Progression of three year's old transplanted mangrove in three different sites was assessed. About 50 hectares of the mangrove stands were studied for forest structure, productivity, types, and levels of human impacts.

Dr. Sayed Abubkr is an environmental researcher and conservation botanist in the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, Department of Nature Conservation. He received his Master's and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Science, Mansoura University and has some publications focus on mangrove and coastal ecosystems ecology.
