When Mike and Laura settled down in the low country of South Carolina, they envisioned the rest of their lives would be an idyllic journey in leisure and entertainment, but Laura was immediately disturbed by the celebration of the gun culture prevalent in the area. Mike, a former marine and NYC detective, does not share her fear, but understands its impact on her. The couple's serene retirement years are interrupted by an act of violence at a peaceful protest on Myrtle Beach, a lone gunman opens fire and kills 18 people before slipping away unscathed. Mike gets caught up in the investigation and Laura in the rallying cry for gun control. At the same time, the entire world erupts into chaos as the Covid-19 pandemic spreads to North America. A fictional account based on real events in the state, country, and world in recent times, Echoes of the Gun Range tells a riveting story of man's inhumanity to man which will appeal to the socially and politically minded. The book examines controversial issues of the moment through the lens of fiction, and its portrayal of the very real dangers and divisive conflict feels honest and raw. Echoes of the Gun Ranges invites readers on a journey of good vs. evil where perseverance in the face of hardship can lead to the ultimate redemption.
