Autorenporträt
IndieBRAG honouree Nick Rippington has been regularly scooping awards with his gritty UK crime tales. His latest book Spark Out - the second in the Boxer Boys series - has received a prestigious IndieBRAG medallion. One of the website's readers said it was 'Dirty, visceral, occasionally violent and yet engaging and strangely compelling. The author has a great street voice'. The book was also awarded the Cover of The Year 2017 title by the Chill With A Book website. Its readers also gave it an award, describing it as "a great read", "compelling" and "a real page turner". Spark Out is the prequel to Nick's debut novel Crossing The Whitewash, which he wrote in response to becoming a silent victim of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal. As the paper's Welsh Sports Editor he was informed at 48-hours notice that it was closing, and had to collect the contents of his desk from a colleague in a Wapping car park. The novel received an honourable mention in the prestigious American magazine Writers' Digest's 2016 eBook Awards with judges describing it as "evocative, unique, unfailingly precise and often humorous". Nick lives with his family in London.
