This book on the Bhil community - an indigenous tribe inhabiting primarily the western state of Rajasthan, India, is the result of my stay amidst them taking part in their day-to-day activities. This is an observation in real-time of their life and lifestyle, from their food habits to their belief systems to their unique traditions and rituals. Though the focus is primarily on the Bhils, its value addition in the field of Anthropology is enhanced by information pertaining to field work - the constraints an anthropologist faces, and means of overcoming such constraints with limited resources. I hope a budding anthropologist who shows an interest in hands-on field work finds this as a guide to successful research.
