Autorenporträt
Born in England during WWII, Susan grew up in a world of great danger and uncertainty, but the strength of community helped her family to survive. When a neighbors house was destroyed by a bomb, the displaced family became part of Susan's family. In time three more families also moved in. The children played outside when it was safe. They created their own games using imagination, making secret hide outs in the bushes and tents from sheets hanging on the washing line. Toys were rare but creativity survived. Susan came to USA in 1965 and became a citizen. She worked in accounting until almost retirement, then started writing children's books. Susan created the Droogledot family to help as reminders about the behaviors that we all value but sometimes forget in a busy technology-driven world: sharing, caring for others, bravery and self esteem. The Droogledots also tackle issues such as the need to respect boundaries, jealousy and bullying with story lines that both teach and delight. Come step into the Droogledot world and be reminded of the heroes journey; all woven into stories mixed with a good serving of fantasy.
