Sandra Bennett is the author of the Adamson Adventures. Book One, Secrets Hidden Below, (2018) was Shortlisted Australian Speech Pathology Book of the Year Awards 2019. Book Two, A Lighthouse in Time (2019), and Book 3, Fossil Frenzy (2020).Fossil Frenzy was one of the winners of the Queensland Writers Centre Adaptable Competition, (2020) and a finalist in the International Book Awards (2021), Royal Dragonfly Awards, (2021), and Book Excellence Awards, (2022).In previous years Sandra has independently published two picture books and two early readers. She has had eight short stories published in six anthologies. Cyclone Kayla is a graphic novel (2020) written for the non-for-profit organisation, Library For All. This a wonderful initiative to bring literacy to children in remote and rural communities of PNG and other regions in the South Pacific.As a former Primary School teacher, Sandra enjoys author school visits for talks, readings and writing workshops. Sandra has presented at CBCA Canberra branch and the Canberra Writer's Festival 2019. Understanding the importance of hooking readers to help them develop a love of reading from an early age, is paramount to Sandra's passion for writing. She enjoys creating relatable and humorous characters in everyday situations, then turning them into the extraordinary by giving each story a mischievous twist.In her spare time Sandra is often seen roaming the hills and seeking adventures around her country property just outside of Canberra. She enjoys creating stories that are inspired by the nature she finds around her.
