An expert at looking for love in all the wrong places, Vicki's head is turned by a charming and handsome younger man named Ben. Elusive happiness seems like it's finally within her reach, and Vicki's over the moon-that is, until they marry and Ben reveals his true nature. Ben's troubled past rules his every move, and Vicki learns too late that he has one motive for marrying her: money. Determined to locate the fortune he's convinced Vicki is hiding from him, Ben's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and unpredictable. Insisting he's building a lovely new home for them to start their life in, Ben drains the last of Vicki's savings to feed his drug and alcohol addiction. Once the cash runs out, Ben becomes aggressive, abusing Vicki both mentally and physically as he begins a downward spiral into compulsive rage. Naïve and inexperienced, Vicki clings to the idea of the romance she believes she and Ben share, simultaneously loving him and hating his violent, frightening behavior. A story of two people from completely different worlds who are desperate for love at any cost, Domestic Ransom is a psychological thriller about abuse, addiction, and greed.
