This book investigates effect of fading on the error performance of different digital modulations and corresponding improvements with diversity combining. The main thrust is to find out analytical expressions in closed-form. To establish the efficacy of analytical models, the results have also been compared with the MATLAB based Monte Carlo simulations. The study involves the performance of digital modulated signals under different fading models such as Rayleigh (single as well as double), Rician, Nakagami, and Hoyt fading followed by the improvement due to diversity combining schemes such as…mehr

This book investigates effect of fading on the error performance of different digital modulations and corresponding improvements with diversity combining. The main thrust is to find out analytical expressions in closed-form. To establish the efficacy of analytical models, the results have also been compared with the MATLAB based Monte Carlo simulations. The study involves the performance of digital modulated signals under different fading models such as Rayleigh (single as well as double), Rician, Nakagami, and Hoyt fading followed by the improvement due to diversity combining schemes such as maximal ratio combining, equal gain combining, selection combining, switch and stay combining, and switch and examine combining.
