Water for irrigation is a major limitation to agricultural production in many parts of the world. Use of water with elevated level of salinity is one likely option to meet future crop water requirement and to reduce the stress on dwindling fresh water supplies in the country and to combat the negative effects of climate change in coastal semi-arid regions of the world. This book focus on utilization of saline and brackish irrigation water for sustaining crop production. Saline water application without proper management strategies is highly detrimental to crop growth. Crop yield show a differential effect to the application of saline irrigation water. Management guidelines are developed to use high saline irrigation waters to salt sensitive crops for sustaining the yield levels. Procedures to develop the crop coefficient when crop is subjected to different saline concentrations at different growth stages are also highlighted.
