This paper shows the results of studying the problem of shaping students' economic thinking in theory and pedagogical practice and clarifies the concept of "senior pupils' economic thinking" in the aspect of school economic education, proves the need to substantiate and develop didactic teaching support of shaping students' economic thinking, develops structural and functional model of shaping students' economic thinking. The functions of didactic accompaniment of formation of economic thinking of senior pupils in economic lessons are also defined, the forms, methods and means of teaching are selected and proved. The requirements to the contents and structure of teaching materials, promoting the formation of economic thinking of senior pupils are grounded and the results of the experimental work are set forth.
