A native of Beaumont, Texas, Theresa Nelson spent many summers on the beaches of Bolivar and Galveston, the setting for Devil Storm. She has written five other award-winning books for young people: The 25 Cent Miracle, And One For All, The Beggars' Ride, Earthshine, and The Empress of Elsewhere. She lives now with her family in Sherman Oaks, California.
