However, the movie by Bhanshali is a faithful adaptation of the novel and is famous for the dialogue:"Babuji ne kaha gaon chhodh do sub ne kaha paro ko chhodh do paro ne kaha sharab chhodh do...aaj tum keh rehe ho yeh haweli ko chhodh do...eik din ayega jab woh kaha ga duniya hi chhodh do...!!" Nevertheless, unlike Bhanshali's Devdas, which is very close to Saratchandra Chattopadhyay legendary novella, Anurag Kashyap's deviant take on Devdas is contemporary and in the process, differs from the original. Himanshu Upadhyay has been working as an Assistant Professor at Shivam Institute of Management, Commerce and Computer Technology, Valasan, Anand since June- 2011. He had his M.Phil from Sardar Patel University, V. V. Nagar, Anand, Gujarat, India, and is pursuing Ph.D from the same University. He had already published 6 research papers.
