The aim of this research was to design and construct highly sensitive bio-analytical devices, useful in clinical profiling of patients in disease screening, diagnosis or monitoring disease progression. These novel types of immunosensors are based on either fiber optics or micro-array technology in which indium tin oxide (ITO), deposited on the non-conductive surfaces of transducers, allow the electropolymerization of newly synthesized monomers, be they light sensitive or affinity-based, for subsequent specific immobilization of bioreceptors.

Autorenporträt
My doctoral research in Biotechnology Engineering was primarily oriented in development of bio-polymers and device technologies for future biological application. I completed a postdoctoral appointment in Chemistry at Tufts University and CEM, Harvard to utilize my expertise in the engineering of new biomaterials and diagnostics applications.
