Produktbeschreibung
A channel model has been developed to predict the time series of rain attenuation at Ku- band over an earth-space path at a tropical location, Kolkata. A time series predictor of rain rate has also been developed for the tropical location, Kolkata The validity of the model is tested on event by event basis as well as on long term basis. Analysis and modeling of Fade slope measurements for Kolkata are done in the present work. Measured rain rate series is converted to attenuation series for the tropical region, Kolkata by using Synthetic storm technique. Since, the rain environment is different for different regions, measured rain rate and attenuation statistics are compared between tropical and temperate region. Separate models for mean and sigma are developed for a temperate location, Spino d' Adda and these models are used to predict rain attenuation values during rain events occurred at Spino d' Adda and other sites in the temperate region. The predicted rain attenuation values are used in different fade mitigation techniques to optimize the power requirement and increase the link availability.
