Although these devices brought about many technical conveniences and economic profits, has led to serious concerns about source line pollution, generate harmonics & resulting impacts on the system equipments. Consequently, active power filters has been used as an effective way to compensate harmonic current. Obviously, fast harmonic current detection & generation of the compensating current are the key factors to design Active power filter. A novel approach of artificial intelligence using neural network is used for harmonic current detection in power system network due to these non linear loads is presented in this project. This project focused on the proposed methodology of the harmonic current detection in power system.
