The book is dedicated to the standardization of methods for the determination of influenza virus haemagglutinin (ectodomain) in the composition of inactivated flu vaccines, the recommendations for the isolation of haemagglutinin as well as methods for calculation by means quantitative microscopy and single radial immunodiffusion method. The author first proposes a new refinement based on geometric construction for calculation of haemagglutinin in single radial immunodiffusion method. The area of a circular ring of precipitation which was formed as a result of precipitation antigen HA with a strain-specific polyclonal antiserum in agarose gel. The amount of antigen present is proportional to the area of the circular ring of precipition.
Autorenporträt
Nel 1988 ho difeso la tesi di dottorato presso l'Istituto di virologia (Mosca). In Norvegia sono stato addestrato nel laboratorio di influenza presso l'Istituto Nazionale di Sanità Pubblica di Oslo. Attualmente lavoro per lo sviluppo della tecnologia IgY e studio le interazioni della luce a varie lunghezze d'onda con le immunoglobuline del tuorlo d'uovo.
