Md. Manirul Islam (MA, BEd, MPhil et PhD) est actuellement professeur adjoint d'anglais au Maharaja Nandakumar Mahavidyalaya (affilié à l'université de Vidyasagar), au Bengale occidental, en Inde. Ses recherches portent sur l'écriture indienne en anglais, les études sur les Dalits, les études culturelles, la littérature africaine et caribéenne.
