Brazil is a country of continental dimensions, internationally recognized for its capacity to offer a universal public policy of health care through the Unified Health System (SUS). However, several difficulties are still encountered regarding the control of epidemics, mainly zoonotic ones. Environmental public policies are still insufficient to contain environmental changes capable of generating health problems.
