Hal K. Rothman was Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His many previous works include Blazing Heritage: A History of Fire in the National Parks. Char Miller is W. M. Keck Professor of Environmental Analysis at Pomona College. He is the author and editor of many previous books, including Cities and Nature in the American West.
