The idea behind writing this book dates since the aftermath of the war that occurred in 1999. In 2003, after obtaining my bachelors degree in History from the Faculty of Philosophy, I was fortunate to start working in the Institute of History in Prishtina. Consequently, the idea of writing the book gradually started to shape up and become a reality. Since then, I began to concretely work on this project, starting from accumulating testimonies, evidence and other data related to the massacre of May 14, 1999. In 2006, I published a brief article in a newspaper commemorating the aforementioned massacre's seventh anniversary. Although the article could be classified as a modest one, the initiative of writing such a piece was very effective since it established the foundation of executing the first step towards actualize and write down the concern that has haunted me for such a long time.
