There are silent lessons that we need mine out of David's life if we are not going to fall short on this brief but eventful journey of ours. This was a man that came from an insignificant background, given one of the most degrading jobs around and to worsen matters he was hated by his brothers. The last part informed his being ostracized from home. Yet, this man rose above all these negative circumstances and became a reference point for those that God would want to enlist in his exclusive club of warriors. There was something that made him tick such that even when he was down he was never out. In the face of death from Saul he still showed courage, grace, respect for authority and integrity. We need to find out how he did this and got approval from God even though he messed up a couple of times.
