Growing up can be a difficult process under the best of circumstances, but navigating your teenage and young adult years without a strong male role model can be particularly challenging. In Daddy Said...Framing the Mindset of the Next Generation, William J. Rogers distills a lifetime of experience into counseling young people coming of age. Using direct, no-nonsense advice and nuggets of wisdom gleaned from his own life, he addresses many of the issues encountered by teenagers from all backgrounds. His range of topics includes how to be a sibling, the value of attending church, the responsibilities of driving, respect for self and others, sexuality, marriage, and parenting. His view is compassionate, but his tone is practical. Not only is his advice important for young people, but it's also invaluable for anyone becoming a parent or a mentor. Rogers is an advocate for old-fashioned, positive family values, core principles that he feels are vanishing from society today. But he believes that with a little guidance, today's youth can embrace these morals and shape the next generation.
Autorenporträt
A native of Hampton, Virginia, William J. Rogers was raised by self-employed parents with a strong Christian faith. Along with a graduate degree in psychology, that faith and family background prepared him to guide young people less fortunate than himself. He is a US patent awardee, former US Air Force commissioned officer, and an active member of his Baptist church deacon ministry, but he counts being a brother, husband, father, and grandfather among his proudest achievements.
