This book assessed the conflict causes and customary / traditional conflict resolution mechanisms at Ethiopia-Kenya cross border. When it comes to the conceptual framework for the analysis, this study employed Dennis Sandole s good three pillar approach, in mapping out the causes of conflict in Moyale area, and also assess the traditional ways of conflict resolution for future intervention strategies. The study analyzed the major causes of conflict situation at Moyale area of Ethiopia-Kenya cross border areas. The major causes of conflicts include: disputes over political and administrative power, boundaries and borders, competition over resources, ethnic or clan rivalries, harmful cultures that appreciates killings, perceptions and narratives of the past, climate change, where governance and rule of law structures are abused, communal revenge attacks, cattle raids and counter-raids, proliferation of illegal small arms and arms trade, and the weakening of customary ways of conflict resolution.
