George Stiggins wrote this valuable account between 1835 and 1843. William Stokes Wyman was a professor at The University of Alabama and the foremost authority on the state's Indians during the latter half of the 19th century. Virginia Pounds Brown has coauthored or written several books about southern Indians, including The World of the Southern Indians and Southern Indians Myths and Legends.
