The didactics of the culture of the foreign language being learned, Spanish in this case, is of utmost importance, as learners must come to appreciate, value and respect that culture. Intercultural competence identifies a person's ability to act appropriately and flexibly when confronted with the actions, attitudes and expectations of people from other cultures. At the same time it includes the ability to stabilize one's own identity in the process of mediation between cultures and to help others to stabilize theirs. It is for this reason that the present work deals with the design of a didactic unit of cultural exchange aimed at non-native teachers of Spanish. A brief discussion is given on interculturality and the six steps proposed for the design of task-based didactic units. The design and description of the programmed unit are provided. Then, the didactic unit created in the six steps mentioned above is presented.
