Autorenporträt
For over twenty five years, Kevin Kitrell Ross has been on a mission to inspire people to awaken to their highest potential and be a force for good in the world. This mission has taken him around the world serving people as an internationally renowned keynote speaker, panelist, author, radio talk show host, master life coach and most prominently, as the Senior Minister of Unity of Sacramento International Spiritual Center. "Rev. Kev," as he is affectionately called, is also deeply committed to co-creating a world of peace, prosperity and unconditional love for all and has risen as a respected interfaith social justice leader. Ross has earned a reputation as a bridge-builder and has worked nationally and internationally to heal the widening global racial and religious gap. Ross' activism has placed him on the front lines of some of our nation's most pressing civil and human rights struggles. He was among the faith leaders to be arrested while challenging the decision not to prosecute the law enforcement officers who killed, an unarmed African American man Stephon Clarke, in Sacramento. Together with a broad coalition of leaders and community, Rev. Kev's voice was influential in the passage of AB392, "The Stephon Clark Law"; which is now the strictest police use of force law in America. He also took to the front lines with over 1000 other protesters and faith leaders, at our nation's southern border to demand that children be released from cages and reunited with their families. And he was instrumental in having the Muslim travel ban temporarily lifted in order to allow a Yemeni mother to be reunited with her dying son in a San Francisco hospital.Ross has shared the stage with luminaries ranging from His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and the late President Nelson Mandela. He has moderated town hall events for (now) Vice President Kamala Harris and United States Congressman Ami Bera and he has been called on to serve as a spiritual advisor to many elected officials.Ross serves on the Leadership Council of the Association for Global New Thought. He is a Senior Fellow of the Mountain-Valley Chapter of the American Leadership Forum, and a Board member of Sacramento Area Congregations Together. He is also a popular interview guest for numerous magazines, newspapers, blogs, radio and national television shows - including being featured in the New York Times, Ebony Magazine, Last Week Tonight and The Oprah Winfrey Show, to name a few.Ross is a graduate of Morehouse College and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors , including two humanitarian awards, one presented by 100 college presidents at Tufts University and he is an inductee at his alma mater's Martin Luther King, Jr. International Clergy Hall of Honor.Rev. Kev is the creator of "Khavon Martin" a children's social media character who assists youth with addressing race-based trauma and with growing up through difficult times. His latest children's book, The Optimistic Seed: A Story of Resilience is a favorite in school systems and after school youth programs.
