Learning begins when a learner is already capable of associating prior knowledge to sets of ideas and applications. Varieties of learning styles are manifested by the differences of individuals, like in terms of intellectual capacity, learning environment, interest, et cetera. Study habits are the ways with which a learner carries out mental learning. Study habit is simply the way that one studies. Study habits can either be good or bad. It is generally believed that presently the students do not devote sufficient time to their studies and they seldom create a scheme to improve their academic performance particularly in Mathematics. This research focused on the correlation between the study habits of the students and their performance in intermediate algebra. The respondents lived in a rural area which had an effect on their study habits because in most cases, they helped work in the field. They produce crops for food or for sale and this consumed their time for study. Good studyhabits are difficult to develop. In our competitive world, one must have a good background in Mathematics. Progress comes slowly without a good foundation in Mathematics.
